It is a thread about the current high-tech developments happening in Bulgaria and not a thread specifically about architecture. This was formerly a country expert in high technology, mainly in regard to microelectronics and computers. That means Bulgaria was once recognized as the 'Silicon Valley' of the East. Many Bulgarian scientists left the country while others could not be absorbed by newly forming private enterprises after the 1980s 'fall' of Communism. Therefore, they became taxi drivers. It is a fact and not a joke! So probably, it is true.

Bulgaria is at this time focused on creating an economic niche on the world stage by leveraging its high quality education system as some of you may have heard. In actual fact, you can just look up the International Math Olympics or other rankings to see that this small country creates an incredible number of talented people year after year. In fact, it is ranked as one of the top countries in the world in terms of mathematics and the physical sciences. So supposed, the issue is actually structuring the economy in such a way as to be able to efficiently absorb them through the effective utilization of the populace's skills, knowledge and core competencies and not the human resources.

Presently, there are two primary reasons why there is high-tech resurgence in the country:

1) The government has formed a new investment stimulation system whereby it lowers corporate taxes for corporations occupied in high technology. The government also helps these companies construct the necessary infrastructure requested by the corporations if they have projects that are above 20 million Euros in size.

2) Many Bulgarian scientists and engineers are now finding R&D jobs within the Bulgarian economy due to the steady growth of the economy, and positive developments in the business environment, such as the 10% corp. tax rate and technical red-tape reform. There is a new tendency of Bulgarians returning home to create new corporations that will influence the country's strategic position, EU membership and talent pool.

Certainly Bulgaria must become oriented around innovation for it to create a globally competitive economy. The science and technology community in the country is finding its savior in the form of endless possibilities offered by entrepreneurship after the disintegration of the last two decades. This is indeed for all of Eastern Europe as we have all suffered much sorrow and not for Bulgaria. However, we developed impenetrable hope in sorrow, and with hope we all hold the key to progress, peace and prosperity.

The Bulgarian based design group 12B Concept has now its third major project that is the Wild cat design concept. The Wildcat is created by a core team of three members and is purely a design study but could form the basis of a production version if the company receives financial backing. The Wildcat is designed to feature a turbocharged V8 engine developing 460hp positioned as a mid-ranged sports car. The Total weight of the car is expected to be less than 1200kg with around €150,000 as final pricing.

By the end of March next year, a scale model is scheduled to be completed ahead of planned wind tunnel testing. The developers are hoping that a working prototype can be ready for a string of motor shows where the car will be displayed all the way through until the end of 2008. It is actually the car is the vision of Ivan Ivanov, Branimir Dobrev, and Ivan "Sqwall" Stoyneshky The Wildcat is expected to feature a 460 horsepower V8. Currently, the Bulgarian I2B team is looking for investors or potential buyers.

Italdesign Giugiaro Quaranta Concept

The Italdesign Giugiaro will unveil the Quaranta concept car at the Geneva Motor Show. Inspired by the 1968 Bizzarrini Manta concept(top pic), the Quaranta housed a hybrid Toyota powertrain which combined 268 horsepower and 212 pound feet of torque, and reaches 38.8 miles in a gallon. It has a top speed of 0-62 mph in 4.05 seconds.

B.A.T. 11 Concept

Stile Bertone has announced that the Italian coachbuilder and design house will be presenting a new concept car at next month's Geneva Motor Show. He promises that it will unveil the new Alfa Romeo B.A.T. 11 concept car at Geneva next month. The concept car is based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione high performance coupe. The B.A.T. 11 was named to reconnect to the famous B.A.T. 5, B.A.T. 7 and B.A.T. 9 concept cars of the sudio that were developed by Nuccio Bertone between 1953 and 1955.

Toyota FT-HS Concept

Toyota's Calty research and design centre in California has developed the Toyota's FT-HS hybrid sports. It is a two door sports coupe that is composed of a front mounted engine and RWD layout. It features an advanced 400hp hybrid powertrain with a combination of a 197hp electric motor and 292hp 3.5L petrol V6. The latest news Toyota hints that it could inspire next Supra.

Chevrolet Corvette Z03 Concept

Ugur Sahin Design independently created the Chevrolet Corvette Z03 Concept Chevrolet. It is based on the platform of the Z06 Corvette but with three different engine options that range from 500 to 750 horsepower. Its stylish body is formed from carbon fibre that is expected to result in a total weight saving of 50kgs over the standard Z06. it really features a very cool design!

MCE MC1 Supercar

The MCE MC1 is manufactured by MotorCity. It is adesign firm based in Germany and C2P Automotive. The MCE MC1 Supercaris Powered by a 600hp V10 engine and is shorter and narrower than the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 but is 15mm higher. MotorCity calls it as a "production concept" which sites on 20-inches in the front and 21-in rear, carbon fiber, scissor doors and twin central exhausts. Since both companies need funding to get this baby on the road, there is no word whether the car will be produced.

Mazda Furai Concept

It seems a Batman Gadget but it is actually designed for racers! You can see this Mazda Furai Concept in the Detroit Auto Show 2008. This race car is based on the Courage C65 platform and power for the three-rotor engine that runs on E100 Ethanol, and 450 hp.

Porsche Carma Concept

The Porsche Carma Concept is a super slippery Porsche designed by a bunch of students from Institute Superieur de Design in Valenciennes, France using Alias Studio Tools, Maya, and Alias Showcase 3d software. It was designed as an extreme sport scar that is also suitable for daily use. The designers support that particular attention was paid to the aerodynamics of the vehicle that resulted in a detailed study of the body and underbody surfaces in order to achieve the necessary downforce.

Toyota 2000 SR Concept

Toyota 2000 SR Concept is a two-seater coupe that could replace the Toyota MR2. Created by Spanish studio SURE Design, this concept is a modern day incarnation of the Toyota 2000 GT supercar from 1967. A mid-front mounted 3.5-liter V6 engine, which is a bio-fueled, turbocharged, and develops 610 horsepower is expected to provide the proposed power for the Toyota 2000 SR by sending its power to the rear wheels. The power for the front wheels comes from an electric motor, which is capable of driving the front wheels independently where the power of the V6 is unnecessary. This concept is purely a styling exercise by PURE Design; however, a production run is unplanned.

If and when functions are actually required, it is the only time that they are offered. The interesting thing in this car is that it looks very cool!

Scuderia Bizzarrini p538

One of most stunning designs from Stefan Schulze is the Scuderia Bizzarrini p538. it is powered by a mid-mounted 7.0 litre Chevrolet LS7 that provides 505 hp 6200 rpm and 475 lb-ft 4800 rpm. The P538 is a re-bodied Roadster version retaining essentially all of the original design but embracing the "open top" body concept with the style of the original 1966 P538 based on the Galmer Arbitrage GT chassis. At the Nardo Ring in May of 2008, the New P538 will be available for viewing.

Spada Codatronca Concept

Spada has teamed up with coachbuilder to build some 20 copies f the latest new Spada Codatronca Concept in the near future and priced somewhere north of £200,000. A supercharged LS7 V8, with over 600 hp, at top speed of 330 km/h and 0-100 km/h (62mph) time of 3.2 is expected to power the new concept car. It will feature a lighter-weight of 1380kg and more powerful performance of about 700hp. The TSV track version that features top speed of 355 km/h and a mind-boggling 2.7 second 0-100 km/h time will also be offered. The picture shows the finish of the car.

This is an amazing truck design! The Super Tipper Truck Concept looks like a future truck in other planet that is inspired by the movement of quadruped animals. This concept truck was created by the Munich-based truck maker F.X. Meiller that has seen the future of construction hauling, and it is a sleek all-wheel drive tipper that can on all four directions. Haishan Deng, A Chinese transportation designer, made a series of concept drawings portraying what Meiller's vision about the new super tipper truck in action that won him a 2007 red dot award. Deng says the truck's six engines and battery system will be the priciest parts, although Meiller is not yet saying anything about the plan of building the tipper and how much will it cost. On May 17-20 in New York at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, a scaled-down prototype is scheduled to be on display.

The fastest vehicle on the planet in the year 1907 was powered by steam. Currently, steam vehicles are known for being slow, inefficient and generally rubbish, I don’t know if it’s true or not. However, that may not be the way it has to be. The British Steam Car Challenge team is making a new steam powered car, with four boilers and a very high tech chassis indeed, with the goal of breaking the 200mph (321kph) barrier that has stymied other attempts in the past. A technology with ‘legs’ is a technological achievement that would help to establish that steam.

The team interestingly cite raising the popularity of steam as a vehicle propulsion method once again, adding that almost any fuel can be used to generate steam, whether it’s mined, grown, or even captured from the sun. The steam car will be using LPG for their attempt and you can read more about it on the official site or on the Steam Car Club site page also. The BBRC Radio4 also has a radio program about this car. That’s a nice publicity! More power to them if that means that I can have my own steam car few years from now. Wow! How exciting! That would be the best creation of British gentlemen if never.

This steam-powered racer is appropriately named Inspiration, poised to break a 101-year-old speed record of127.659 mph that was set by a Stanley Steamer on the sands of Daytona Beach. The Inspiration's pedigree speaks for itself if the car's slick looks aren't enough to silence doubters. This British steam car is built by the team that created the twin-jet-engined ThrustSSC – the first land vehicle to break the sound barrier.

Water flows into a liquid-propane steam generator within this single-seater's carbon-fiber-and-aluminum body, where it's pressurized to 500 psi and superheated to 725 degrees Fahrenheit. From there it spins a two-stage Curtis turbine to more than 12,000 rpm that results to at least 300 horsepower that should be adequate to slingshot the Inspiration past 200 mph when, if development goes well, it reaches Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats next year

Early next year an all-British team, which is complete with lady driver, will make an attempt on a world land speed record that has remained steady for 100 years. Jesse Crosse reports their condition in facing up to the pressures. The team will decamp to the Verneuk Pan, a lake bed in South Africa's Northern Cape in the spring of next year with their equipments that will include the usual paraphernalia such as toolkits, laptop computers, timing gear, safety equipment and, of course, the car, with a sleek missile on wheels finished in British Racing Green.

A healthy sense of humor prevails despite err and pressures. The science behind the on-board computer systems is explained by a senior engineer, and then proved the point with a hefty and unscientific kick aimed at the main control unit. There was a move to a white board covered in scientific formulae. The car could reach a terminal velocity of 180mph if pushed from a cliff top and it was factually proven by the scribbles. The engineer confided that it is mathematically correct, however, the drivers aren't impressed for some reason.

The team has two drivers for the steam car. Burnett is one of the two drivers. He has raced dragsters and powerboats. Annette Getty is the other driver. She is the general manager of PDS, the family firm that manufactured the tubular steel chassis of the Inspiration. She has no previous experience but is making up for that by her campaign for a Mitsubishi Evo VIII in local rallies.

For some, the car may be too small or look like a shovel while for others that is fine. The Fuel Vapor ale is certainly a large step toward proving that engine technologies do exist to allow better fuel economy. No one ever asked the Wright Brothers to build a Lear jet after their first flight along the beach in North Carolina, while a 1500cc engine may not drive a Suburban down the road.

Arfon's Green Monster

Arthur Eugene Arfons is a Second World War navy veteran. He is an ordinary blue-collar worker and the man who pushed land speed records to extraordinary levels against the more publicity-conscious Craig Breedlove in the 1960’s. At the age of 81, Art died. Akron, Ohio is his home town where he was buried with spanners in his hands and with his extraordinary things by his side that he achieved through his courage and innate engineering skill. These extraordinary things are: a J79 jet-engine operating manual and a jar of his beloved Bonneville salt by his side.

Art Arfons was included in the giants of land speed record-breaking. The duels between him and his fellow American Craig Breedlove in 1960 on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, when they kicked the record from 400 to 600mph with their new breed of jet-cars, were the stuff of legend. In 1954, Arfons became hooked on drag racing and his Green Monster cars became part of the sport's folklore. This man a muscular six-footer with movie-star white teeth set in a broad, tanned face, whose flat planes and high cheekbones bore testimony to the Greek ancestry of his father, Tom, and the Cherokee Indian of his mother, Bessie.

He ran the family's grain store in Akron, Ohio for many years, but when he shattered the land-speed record in October 1964, the world came to know him as the "junkyard genius of the jetset. The Spirit of America of Breedlove that used an improvised spaceframe chassis with a '37 Lincoln axle up front, a Ford truck axle at the rear, and steering courtesy of a Packard cost $250 000. While Arfons's ingenious Green Monster costs $10 000. Arfons built a machine for $32 to hand-build the body for less than $1000. He rigged up a shotgun for $3, to fire the braking parachutes. The projectile cost Arfons $10 000 Excluding the forged aluminium wheels and rubber tyres contributed by Firestone.

For $625, He acquired the engine, which was a damaged General Electric J79 from an F-104 fighter. He recalled when he got it home he called GE and asked them for a manual and they said no, he can't have one. He had a colonel from the military stop by the next day and told him that he was not allowed to have the engine because that was a classified one. Art showed his piece of paper where he bought the engine and told the colonel that he bought it because they didn’t want it and had thrown it away. Arfons rebuilt the engine without assistance and stunned the military. The Caparo Vehicle Products chief executive Richard Butler said that the Caparo T1 is a showcase of their design, development and manufacturing capabilities and it is a demonstration of their technical ability to design a whole car. The Caparo T1 may seem paradoxical given its astonishing performance, but it also has the serious purpose of helping car makers apply racecar technology to everyday vehicles thereby making them lighter and more fuel efficient and hence less harmful to the environment. £725m of income was generated by Caparo last year and it has put its considerable financial muscle behind the high profile Caparo T1 project to help spearhead its ambition to become a leading Tier 1 supplier particularly in advanced composite materials that will help carmakers lessen vehicle mass and in turn fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Using aerospace and high formula racing technology, the ultra lightweight Caparo T1 has been developed. Its efficient and compact 2.4-litre V8 engine develops almost 500bhp in a vehicle weighing less than 500kg. A significant technical breakthrough is the result; being the world’s first ever road and track car to produce 1,000bhp-per-tonne that defines an entirely new breed of exotic, and far from ordinary, supercar that is lighter than a Caterham but with twice the power-to-weight ratio of a Bugatti Veyron. In sequence, this provides the car with an extraordinary 0-100-0mph time of 8.5 seconds that is directly comparable to an A1 GP race car. A twin-supercharged Northstar V8 (sourced from Cadillac) will theoretically provide motive power and the car's projected weight of less than 1150kg suggests its performance will be exhilarating.

The combination of high temperatures and wooden construction could obviously be a cause for some concern, and the exhaust exits from the top of the block and out through mufflers in the wing to help ensure the Splinter doesn't end up as a very expensive bonfire. The Splinter is balanced by leaf springs fabricated from Osage Orange, which is a timber that is hard, strong and flexible. Even the spokes for the wheels are hewn from wood. The wooden supercar visually appears to symbolize a mishmash of styling cues borrowed from Lamborghini, Pagani and Koenigsegg. That means that the end result is quite pleasing to the eye. This left-field project certainly gets the thumbs-up from the people for stretching the design envelope; however, tree huggers may feel otherwise. This project will really be an admirable one, with the unique construction and materials used in creating this supercar.

Koenigsegg is a small Swedish manufacturer that builds some of the most exclusive supercars in the world. It has updated its V8 supercar for 2002. The new CC S8 features lights that are now held in a single unit instead of triple unit clusters compared to the 2002 CC. the rear wing also gone, which is now optional. The body and chassis of Koenigsegg CC are made of autoclaved epoxy pre-impregnated carbonfiber. The car is enabled to be extremely strong, lightweight and completely resistant to corrosion through the use of this material. Composite engineers with experience from Formula One racing are the one who designed the chassis. The chassis features a fully semi-monocoque self supporting center unit, which offers both world class rigidity and driver safety. It also has 21 layers of carbonfiber that varies between unidirectional and woven material, with the middle spacing of aluminium honeycomb, as well as the incorporated tool grade solid aluminium joining points. A mere 62 kg is the total weight of the semi-monocoque.

The production model would use a VR6/WR8-style W16 engine instead of the W18. The W16, which was first seen in the 1999 Bentley Hunaudieres concept car, would get four turbochargers that produce a quoted (metric) 1001 horsepower. It was promised that the top speed will be at 407 km/h (253 mph), and pricing was announced at €1 million.

Throughout 2001, the development of the EB 16/4 Veyron continued and was promoted to "advanced concept" status. Bugatti announced in late 2001 that the car that is officially called the "Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is expected to finally go into production in 2003. However, there were significant problems experienced by the car during development. It was really difficult to achieve the required high-speed stability because one prototype was destroyed in a crash and another spun out during a public demonstration at the Monterey Historics event in Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca. An updated Lotus Exige GT3 was coming on March 15 2008 to the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix. It is even more powerful than last year’s Lotus GT3 concept. In fact it is the world’s fastest Lotus with a highly specialized 1.8-liter engine spawned from the stock engine in the Exige S.

It was not an easy task to prepare the Exige for upcoming competition in the 2008 GT Championship. During the off season, the engineers and mechanics were repeatedly spending 20 hours per day to work on the concept. Major tuning to the engine, boosting power output to 261kw and 305NM were the precious upgrades to the Lotus fastest Car. Reducing the drag for the newly-freshened ’08 model was the primary focus of the engineers. He provided assistance to the team manager Arthur Magaitis and he was also expected to help in guiding the team with car setup and track tuning.

Following its victory in the 2006 British GT3 Manufacturers Championship, the Lotus Sport UK developed the car. There were two major changes that kept the car competitive for the 2007 season. First is the reduction of the high speed drag and next is the achieving more power than the 261kW at 7000rpm and 305Nm at 6000rpm from a 1.8-litre four cylinder engines.

The Lotus Exige GT3 was really made powerful for the Australian Formula One Grand Prix. It competed, with Angelo Lazaris as the pilot, against the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. This was really amazing, the great performance and speed capacity with the determination of the pilot. It is impossible that it could not be successful during the championship. Anyway, I don’t have enough information whether it won during the competition. However, I assume that there will be a new upgraded Lotus GT3 coming on the next GT Championship competition. And since it was called as the world’s fastest car, I think it won against its competitors.

De Lorean DMC-12

The De Lorean Motor Company manufactured a sports car called De Lorean DMC-12 from 1981 to 1983 for the American market in Northern Ireland. De Lorean is the most common name of this sports car since it was the only model produced by the company ever since. It features gull-wing doors with a fiber glass underbody, where non-structural brushed stainless steel panels are fixed. One of the De Lorean DMC-12 was featured in the movie entitled Back to the Future Trilogy as a homemade time machine.

In March 1977, the first prototype appeared and eventually in 1981, the production of the De Lorean officially began at the DMC factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. Several aspects of the car were changed during its production. For example the hood (bonnet) style, wheels and interior. Before the production stopped in 1982, about nine thousand DMC-12 were made. In the present, it is believed that six thousand five-hundred De Lorean motor cars still exist.

Most of the De Lorean DmC-12 models were left hand drive. However, 23 right-hand drive de Loreans were produce, which were converted from left-hand drive models by Wooler Hodec, in Andover, United Kingdom. These cars were the first batch of cars that feature black interior and manual gearbox, where the early prototypes for evaluating the necessary changes for RHD. They have very variable build quality and underbodies and several of these cars were scrapped. The survivors of this batch are those cars with VINs 510, 752, 758.

The next batch of cars featured grey interiors. The cars with VINs 5565, 5592 and 5638 are the only survivors for this batch. These three are quite different from all of the other RHD cars because they all had “Euro-spec” rear lights, roof mounted radio aerials, very small side-indicators repeaters, no-rear-wing side markers, white forward-facing door lights, fog-light switch, and twin brake servos. Since the British legislation didn’t require the company to fit catalytic converter or Lambda equipment, these cars didn’t have one.

The cars in the final batch all featured a black interior and manual transmission, with one exemption, they have the numbers: 12171-12181 and 12199 and SIJ were the registration numbers. The one owned by the Editor of a UK De Lorean Owners’ club was the only Black interior automatic, VIN 12175. The two further cars with VINs 11382 and 16242 were manual cars with grey interior custom made for VIPs in the UK.

Among the 20 right hand cars mentioned, only three of them had automatic gearbox and the remaining seventeen all had manual gearbox. These models were not affected by US legislation during the time they were produced that’s why they had speedometers reading to 140 mph and not 85 mph which was specified by US. Thus, they were very distinctive.

De Lorean cars had suspension based on the Lotus Esprit with a four-wheel independent suspension, coil springs, and telescopic shock absorber. A power-assisted disc brake on all wheels, with 10 inch (254mm) rotors front and 10.5 inch (267 mm) rear are the other distinctive characteristics of the DMC-12.

The De Lorean DMC-12 is really a unique sports car whether it is in external appearance or in internal appearance. It has also a great performance producing 170 horsepower. However, the original plan was for the car to produce somewhere around 200 horsepower. Unfortunately, the power output was again reduced to 130 horsepower and added with catalytic converter in order to quality the vehicles on sale in the US. In 2006, the French marque Citroen produced an executive car called the Citroen C6. This executive car is inspired by the C6 Lignage prototype that was first shown in Geneva Motor Show in 1999. However, Citroen C6 differs from the concept car’s styling in minor details. The Citroen C6 managed to offer a comfortable ride and stable video coverage of the race despite of the bumps while moving at 60 km/h or an approximate 40 mph. a BMW 5-series performed the same test at the same time. However, its suspension could not keep the camera upright.

Due to the great performance of the Citroen C6, it was the car chosen by the former French President Jacques Chirac to be his official car. In fact, the president has been using a pre-series car before the model was introduced.

The Car of the Dark Knight Returns!

The fictional personal automobile of the fictional superhero Batman is the so called Batmobile. This car evolved following the evolution of the character from comic books to the television films. The car features a chassis with heavy armor plating and a high performance engine. It also has rocket boosts sometimes for increased speed, special devices for improved maneuverability, and mounted weapons for disabling vehicles and removing obstacles. Furthermore, Batmobile typically carries a computer that is remotely linked to the main computer of the Batcave, a remote control function, a field forensic kit and a whirlybat, which is a personal helicopter, held in the trunk.

Over the decades, the vehicle has changed frequently. Batman modified a sedan in the early stages of his career. It has armor and technologically advanced automotive customization. Batman has turned the Batmobile into the sleek street vehicle he is currently driving.

The Batmobile is powered by nuclear generation of electricity. It is frequently referred both by Robin in a launch checklist from the television show of 1966 (“Atomic batteries to power. Turbines to speed!”), and by The Penguin in Batman Returns, wherein turning the Batmobile into a “H-bomb on wheels” is one of his schemes to kill Batman.

The Batmobile has been modified into a tank-like armored riot control vehicle in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. It has a complete machine gun bullets and large tank treads in place of tires. The famed Batmobile in its later versions would be built off the stretched-out platforms of other vehicles like the Chevrolet Caprice and Buick Riviera. The new tank-like Batmobile reminiscent that was designed by Frank Miller for the Batmobile in The Dark Knight Returns will explore Gotham City in the year 2027 for an episode in the fourth season.

The Batmobile actually consists of unique characteristics compared to other cars. Yah! It's very evident! In fact it belong to the unusual; cars. For me, it is somewhat a crossbreed between an armored car, sports car and a hybrid car. It is not only for traveling purposes but also for defense and fighting situations. Lastly, it would also go faster and handle like a large brick on land.

Another feature of the sQuba is it is powered by five electric separate motors in order to avoid messing up with the environment. Using combustion engine underwater, though may be possible, is difficult and notorious to the environment especially to the water. This is why the sQuba is a zero-emission vehicle. Like a submarine, it also doesn’t release any pollution at all. Therefore, like the open-top-car design of sQuba, there is also a practical reason why it is equipped with electric motors. One of the key causes of particulates or soot in diesel is the sulphur, which is a natural part of the crude oil from which diesel fuel is derived. In mid-October 2006, the new ULSD fuel went on sale at most diesel stations throughout the nation. It is really a unique feature of a car but it seems that it will not be comfortable enough to ride on it because of its small size. It is an electric concept car that looks like a baby stroller. However, it seems to me that it is exclusive only for short distance travels and not for long distance travels because one might find the ride unpleasing due to the small space inside it. Aptera is the combination of expertise. It is a truly unique vehicle that seems a cross between a dolphin and a helicopter. This vehicle will be exclusive only to the residents of California in its initial production, though it is technically classified as a motorcycle. AC hopes to offer it to the national and international market if it sells well.

Aptera achieved 230 mpg in its initial prototype. It is 195 mpg over the projected standard outlined in the recent energy bill signed by President Bush. AC still have more time to work out the kinks and improve the efficiency of Aptera since it is expected to be ready for California in late 2008.

The following are also included in the findings:

*Honda and Subaru are the only two automakers that earned the distinction of having all of models tested by Consumer Sports make their recommended list. Honda, on the other hand, is the only automaker whose entire model lineup is currently recommended since two of Subaru models are not yet tested, the Impreza and WRX.

*Some vehicles that are doing well during the testing tend to have a relatively high number of problems reported by the owners in the reliability survey. Examples of these are the vehicles of Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen that achieved the best average scores in the tests but the overall score in reliability is below or well below. This limits the recommended vehicles for the said automakers.

*In contrary, there are vehicles that don’t post the best scores in testing even if they are very reliable like some Subaru and Toyota models that are very reliable overall but lower in testing.

*Last year, there was a jump in the recommended percentage of all tested Ford vehicles from 54 to 64 percent because of improved reliability. On the other hand, there was a drop from 36 percent to 30 in the recommended percentage for GM vehicles due to some redesigned SUVs proved unreliable.
